Digiments - NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS and One More Sneak Peak...

Yay Digiments! Today is the day... Digiments Grand Opening! The wait is over...you can finally check out the big buzz around digital sentiments! Stay awhile and check it out and while you're at it, purchase some for yourself and try it out. The DT members have outdone themselves with the creative uses for the digiments.

Here is my Grand Opening Sneak Peak for today... a birthday gift set with notecards. I created this gift set of notecards to send to my hubby's aunt. She is always so thoughtful and always remembers us on those special ocassions. So for her birthday, it was just appropriate to send her something she can use and to show you how versatile these digiments can be.

I used the same patterned paper as the birthday card I posted yesterday. It was a nice and bright like DH's aunt. I found this tutorial for "no tools flower" on Joanne's Mainly Flowers blog. I had seen this flower on SCS when I was browsing the gallery and it caught my eye. Luckily, she was nice enough to share a tutorial on how she creates all of her lovely flowers on her cards. She makes them look so real and also uses tools that you could have already laying around at home - added bonus! To add a little more pizazz to the gift set, I added a blue flower with some bling in the middle and a pink scalloped border. I added a fun stitch around the card too. I really need to work on my sewing. I pierced all the way around the sentiment for added depth. I created a double pocket bag to keep the notecards, envie and matching pen in. For the notecards, it was created like a postcard and the sentiments "...thank you, Friend" and "...thank you for everything." was added on the front panel. This a good change from your traditional A2 notecards. Each notecard has some added zigzag stitching. Believe me, it took awhile to get just the notecards done because my sewing machine decided to have a tantrum that day and not work! It was a long and frustrating time so after threading and rethreading and changing the needle...finally worked like a charm!

So that is it for now! I will be working on more digiments in the next week or two for Father's Day and graduation so no sleep for the weary this month - check back laters. I love working with Michelle's digiments and so will you.

What are you waiting for??? Get yourself over to the Digiments blog and drool like crazy!

what a wonderful set! she is gonna be thrilled! and the blue flower makes such a nice contrast!

I can't sew at all - have to faux it whenever I want to add any on my cards. even then I'm glad it doesn't have to be straight or perfect! ;) sorry your machine gave you fits - but you could never tell to look at your wonderful creations!

Everything you make is amazing! If my card and your card are ever in the same room, your card may NOT stand beside my card. LOL!
