With Father's Day coming soon I needed to get some cards completed and sent out. Since I had to make multiples, I had to create a simple design that was easy to duplicate. Just like when Mother's Day rolled around, I ended up making 5 of these (one for hubby, my dad, my father-in-law, and the great grandpas). We are all very grateful to have these special men in our lives especially the great grandpas who are still very healthy and active. I ended up with 3 creations using the same concept. It's nice working for Sheetload of Cards because I was able to use the June sketch as inspiration to create a lot of of my cards I've created for this month. So you can see a wide variety of cards made from one sketch. Cool, huh?
For the main image, I used a Penny Black stamp called Majestic Buck inked in Tim Holtz Distress Ink called Tea Dye (first time I've ever used it) on some grid paper and lined it with cardstock for stability since grid paper is very very thin. After cutting the images with the Labels 1 nestie, gluing the grid paper and cardstock together, I sponged the edges for a little distressing. I added a medallion using kraft cardstock on the top right corner using a Father's day sentiment from Digiments and cut out a circle using the Nestabilities classic circles. The digiment is printed in size 1.25 x 1.59 inches to fit perfectly in the circle. Normally, what I do to insure that the sentiment fits in the circle, I measure the cutting side of the nestie from one side to the other and size my image or sentiment a little smaller. I print off my image/sentiment on scrap paper first so that I am not wasting any cardstock. Place my shape over the image/sentiment then cut out shape. Easy peasey! As an added embellie, I just used string in place for ribbon since this is a masculine card.
Remember, Digiments is releasing some new digital sentiments on Saturday so make sure to stop by and take advantage of some really great digiments! Instant gratification and you get to play with them right away.

Great card! I love the string, I'm into that these days.
These are awesome Father's Day cards. I love the colors you used, and the layouts are so masculine!
